Technical Information About Network Design
Quality design and implementation
DataPerk specializes in a wide array of information technology services focused primarily on design, deployment and support of WAN and LAN infrastructure. We manage the complex tasks required to build and support IT infrastructure like routers, switches, servers, PCs, wireless devices, printers, broadband, cabling and many other components found in a multi-site enterprise network. Our offerings and packages have changed with the speed of technology, but our focus on the customer remains the same.

Wireless Solutions
Wi-Fi allows LANs (Local Area Networks) to be deployed without cabling for client devices, typically reducing the costs of network deployment and expansion. Spaces where cables cannot be run, such as outdoor areas and historical buildings, can host wireless LANs. Wi-Fi networks have limited range. A typical Wi-Fi home router using 802.11b or 802.11g with a stock antenna might have a range of 32 m (120 ft) indoors and 95 m (300 ft) outdoors. Range also varies with frequency band. Wi-Fi in the 2.4 GHz frequency block has slightly better range than Wi-Fi in the 5 GHz frequency block. Outdoor range with improved (directional) antennas can be several kilometers or more with line-of-sight.
With a lineup of various hardware solutions for your company, DataPerk can design, implement, secure, and manage your Wi-Fi network to suit your needs. VPN (Virtual Private Network)
VPN & Security
Your business data is a vital asset and like any other asset, it must be protected. Whether from a virus or from prying eyes, you want your data to be safe. DataPerk offers you our vast experience in dealing with network and data security issues. We can help you define, implement and test a security solution tailored to your needs.
What is VPN and do I need it?
Virtual Private Network (or VPN) is a means of allowing computers at dispersed locations communicate over a public network (such as the Internet) with the same security as your private network. VPN uses strong encryption to make it all but impossible for anyone other than authorized users to access the data. It is useful if your business has multiple locations or people in the field who need to share and access corporate computing resources.
VPN clients and VPN servers are typically used in these three scenarios:
- To support remote access to an intranet.
- To support connections between multiple intranets within the same organization.
- To join networks between two organizations, forming an extranet.
What are the benefits of a VPN?
The main benefit of a VPN is the lower cost needed to support this technology compared to alternatives like traditional leased lines or remote access servers. VPN users typically interact with simple graphical client programs. These applications support creating tunnels, setting configuration parameters, and connecting to and disconnecting from the VPN server. VPN solutions utilize several different network protocols including PPTP, L2TP, IPsec, and SOCKS.
VPN servers can also connect directly to other VPN servers. A VPN server-to-server connection extends the intranet or extranet to span multiple networks
What security related services does DataPerk offer?
