DataPerk has been in business since 2001 and each of our techs have on average over a decade of experience managing, supporting, and the installing technology solutions. Repair or Replace?
While it is typically a case by case basis, there are many advantages and disadvantages to consider when it comes to the repair of your existing technology. Depending on the severity of the situation, a repair may not always be the best route. At DataPerk, our experts assess your company's needs in an attempt to choose the most time and cost effective route. Repair Advantages
- Downtime - There are many situations where a repair can save your company the down time of implementing new technologies, hardware, and/or software.
- Cost - Being able to place your current technology back into commission can save your company the cost of implementing new technologies, hardware, and/or software.
- Least Change(s) - In most cases, a repair will prevent any changes from having to be made to your existing technologies, hardware, and/or software.
- Least Stress - By implementing a repair and thus preventing any changes from having to be made to your current technologies, you can save your staff the stress and time of having to learn newly implemented technologies, hardware, and/or software.
Repair Disadvantages
- Downtime - Some repairs call for the use of proprietary technologies, hardware, and/or software; these are sometimes difficult to get and implement in a reasonable amount of time. In those scenarios, a repair can sometimes exceed the downtime of the implication of new technologies, hardware, and/or software.
- Cost - While typically it is cheaper to repair then replace, situations arise where the cost of repairs will come close to and/or exceed the cost of replacement.
